Warranty Information
Athena is a chocolate Labrador. She was bred in Tuscan, Arizona. Raymond's Princess Georgia is her dam, and Lightening Kodiak is her sire. I acquired Athena when she was eight weeks old. She adapted quickly to her new environment, and, for a few days, everything seemed fine. After that short period, Athena began to regurgitate her food, and I noticed that she was not putting on any weight. I decided I had to take her to see the veterinarian. Her doctor put her thought a wide range of tests, and discovered that Athena suffers from a disease called Congenital Megaesophagus -- a disease that prohibits the muscles in the esophagus from contracting and carrying food into the stomach. There are a variety of treatments. Unfortunately, Megaesophagus is hereditary. As a responsible pet owner, dealing with your pet’s upkeep and medical expenses can be daunting. As every pet owner will tell you, best friends can be a handful, but the rewards of having a loving and loyal companion far outweigh the costs.
In only her twelfth week of life it was decided for the better quality of her life that she be euthanized. This is why I have my Warranty below. As a breeder, it is my duty to inform potential owners of any health issues relating to either parents of the puppies, or their siblings. It is my personal goal to provide responsible, loving homes for these puppies.
Warranty Contract
San Tan Labradors Puppy Warranty
For any hereditary conditions which may arise as outlined below.
All veterinary and X-ray costs are at the owner’s expense.
The Labrador must be registered in the original owner’s name, and cannot have been sold. Todd Davis must be in
the Labradors AKC registered name or this warranty is void.
If the Labrador is diagnosed by OFA as being moderately or severely dysplastic on or before 24 months of age, you
must submit a copy of the x-ray and OFA report to the San Tan Labradors within 10 days of diagnosis.
If the dog is diagnosed by a veterinary ophthalmologist certified by the ACVO for eye problems, as having Progressive
Retinal Atrophy (PRA) or Central Progressive Retinal Atrophy on or before 12 months of age, you must submit a copy
of this report to San Tan Labradors within 10 days of diagnosis.
Labradors used for breeding prior to x-ray and exam are not subject to this warranty and the warranty will be void.
Labradors that have been abused are void from this warranty
Labradors that have been injured are void from this warranty.
All labs are sold in good faith and no lab is sold for any specific use or guarantee of performance such as brood bitch,
stud dog, show dog, field trial, or hunt test competitor.
If the dog is found to be defective or dysplastic as described above — then to qualify for a cash refund:
1.) The dog must be sterilized in a manner preferred by your Veterinarian and a letter stating he/she has done so must be
sent to the breeder.
and
2.) The puppy/dog and registration certificate must be returned (buyer expense), signing the ownership of the dog back to
Todd Davis.
Buyer will have puppy examined by a veterinarian of their choice within 72 hours (Owners expense), during which time the
puppy can be returned for full purchase price if a medical problem is found and the puppy has not been abused or injured.
We are not responsible for parasites such as coccidiosis, giardia, or other parasite puppies commonly carry.
The breeder will refund the Buyer’s money of the original cost. .
The breeder reserves the right to have the dog examined by a veterinarian(s) of their choice before a refund is made.
Hips are guaranteed to be OFA certifiable at two years of age (24 months). The above requirements are necessary to enforce
this warranty and they are YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to see that they are met. This warranty only covers hereditary defects
on hips and eyes. It does not cover any physical injuries. If a physical injury or injuries have occurred, this warranty is void.
All shipping to or returning any puppy or Adult Lab to or from my home are to be paid for by the purchaser.
Buyer also agrees, that if for any reason in the lifetime of the said puppyadult Labrador, if they can no longer keep in their
possession the Labrador, that they will relinquish ownership back to Seller, Todd Davis (San Tan Labradors). Under no
Circumstances is Buyer to release puppyAdult Lab to any Rescue Group, Shelter, or any other type of facility for re-homing.
Buyer is to Contact Todd Davis immediately and arrange for puppyAdult Lab to be released back to Seller, where it
will always have a home, where the Labrador came from.
